Spring has Sprung at Kids Club! Join us on Saturday, May 28!

What an amazing time we had in April....playing games, planting flowers to take home. While having all of this fun, we worked on literacy, self-expression, socialization, turn-taking, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, behavioral issues and functional skills.

Kids 9-13, bring a friend from school in May, we have a very special Kids Club!

We have a group joining us - it will be a big party! Don't miss out on the fun!!! We are asking that each family bring a package of juice boxes on this date.

Saturday, May 14 - Crawlers Group and 2 & Under Group!

Our Crawlers Group meets on a monthly basis, from 9-9:45am. It is led by a Physical Therapist and local gymnastics teacher, and parents work with their child under supervision and are given ideas to try at home.

Siblings are welcome and encouraged to attend - they can be great motivators for their brother or sister and are taught things to work on at home as well!

For kids who are not crawling yet, they would work on the muscles that are not being used to help get the child crawling. They can help with muscle strength and development for kids who are just beginning to crawl or take first steps.

Communication Development Seminar

Tuesday, April 12 7:30pm Lora White returns to the Hoffman Playhouse! She'll discuss: the primary concerns impacting the oral motor, feeding and communication development of the young child (birth to age 5) with Down syndrome. specific language learning concerns and strategies to improve language development home based activities to promote communication, speech and language development There will be an informal Q & A time to discuss individual concerns. Registration required, RSVP to hoffmanestates@gigisplayhouse.org. This is a free event.

Kids Club - another fun visitor!

Kids Club enjoyed a visit from Sandy, the therapy dog! She is a great listener when we read books, and we asked her owner a lot of questions about her. We enjoyed some fun creative movement activities like limbo, played games, and had a blast!

Join us on May 28th from 10-11:30am, and bring a friend from school! Kids age 9-13, join us!!

Thursday, April 7 and April 14 - Wendy's Night!

Friends and families and volunteers of the Playhouse...stop by the Wendy's at the corner of Golf & Roselle Road any time between 4 and 8pm on April 7 or 14 for dinner. There are two Thursday eves each month that are Hoffman Playhouse nights....we receive a percentage of the proceeds! Wear your GiGi's shirt. Bring your family and friends. Help spread awareness (we're allowed to bring in brochures, etc.)
